This weekend we headed to Gouldsboro, Pennslyvania, in the heart of the Poconos. Our destination? Eagle Lake with the Fagans! Although the ride was long on Thursday and we watched rain and lightning we knew that the rainbows we saw at the end would be a sign of calm for the weekend!
The kids were all happy to see each other once again-- after all, it had been a few weeks! As soon as we walked in, they were off and running. As we were getting out of the car Frank asked Tyler for a kiss because he "would probably not be seen the rest of the weekend". And he was right!
It did rain off and on Friday, but the kids were able to get out and play at times. They played Star Wars with glow-in-the-dark swords and while they were doing that, the boys.... Barbecued....

July 4th Weekend and Beyond!
And napped. Would you believe that both Conor and Frank denied they had fallen asleep?
Luckily, the Fourth brought some sun and warmer weather. During the afternoon we headed to the pool. It was PACKED! Laurette and I looked for chairs for quite some time and were not successful. We eventually gave up and joined the kids in the water. Thank goodness the water was warm because the air temperature was not! The kids soon discovered that it was not so warm, either and we headed out. On the way back to the trailer we stopped by a fair and the kids bounced around a bouncy house for a bit.
After quick baths and dinner, it was time for the campfire. Makayla and Skylar were the only takers for marshmallow roasting.
Skylar got her marshmallow nice and melted. Can't you tell? By the way, using a napkin alone does not remove marshmallow from fingers!
A quick family picture before heading out to watch fireworks.
The Three Musketeers watching oh so patiently for the fireworks. Shortly after this shot, jackets and sweatshirts were on! Poppy Fagan (in the back ground) already is wearing his. Is it July yet?
Aunt Laurette brought sparklers for the kids. Tyler wanted no part of it but Skylar and Conor were happy to use them up!
Mommy and Ty-Ty time.
What a fun weekend! Despite the weather we were able to spend a lot of time outside with friends and family all weekend. We made sure we took the golf cart for a spin, watched for deer, and even played a bit of football with some of the neighbor kids (and the result: mud, mud, and more mud! But what fun!). Thanks again Fagan's for letting us crash for the weekend!
